The Fourth and fifth Series of the South Sudan Safari are out!
The fourth series have already being partly aired on the local radio stations. I am sure those in Juba and Torit are enjoying the programs. They are not only educative and informative but also unifying as we celebrate our cultural diversity.
The Fourth series which has three programs focused on Warrap State where there was a Peace, Chiefs and Traditional Leaders’ Conference, held in in Tonj.

The Fifth Series is also out and airing at the local stations listed at the end for the timings. These series looks at two different themes in the different programs:
- The CPA Celebrations in Malakal and other areas
- A look at Miss Malaika South Sudan event and an exclusive interview with the winner of Miss Malaika South Sudan 2008 on her plans as the reigning beauty queen.
Gurtong was finally able to get to an agreement with the Eastern Equatorial State radio to broadcast our programs.
These programs that are now being broadcast on the following radio stations in South Sudan:
- Radio Bakhita 91 FM on Fridays at 11:00am and Saturdays at 8.30pm.
- South Sudan Radio on Mondays at 6.00am and Saturdays at 8.30am
- Torit State radio do not have specific schedules for airing the program

Dear Gurtong readers,
The Third Series of South Sudan Safari has already being partly aired on the local radio stations. Nevertheless, I am sure you will have another opportunity to listen to the programs as we have made arrangements to have them repeated just for you who missed them.
The Third Series focuses on Juba town. The three programs are on:
1. Views of the current residents of Juba on the town and areas they think need improvement – It features visitors, returnees, diplomats and residents of South Sudan in Juba.
2. In the second program in this series, we get valuable insight on the Historical origin Juba- the capital of the Government of Southern Sudan through an interview with Former Minister of Roads and Transport Engineer, Mr Sarafino Wani Swaka
3. As a continuation of the second program, the third one in this series looks at: The exploration of the origin of Juba and establishment of Juba as a seat of colonial and post colonial authorities. Here we get opinions from key senior officials including the Government of South Sudan Ministers and State Ministers.

Second edition of the Gurtong Radio program, South Sudan Safari,
an informative, exciting and interesting series which covers
a variety of topics on cultural, social, developmental issues
among others is now out.
What’s
more the programs are now being broadcast on several radio
stations among them Radio Bakhita, South Sudan Radio and Torit
Radio.
The

The
maiden issue focused on Gender, Culture, Education and Traditional
Leadership. We also touched on the issue of HIV.
In
this 2nd series, the programs focus on HIV and has a special
interview with a Doctor giving detailed information and answering
all question that have been posed on transmission modes, healthcare
and living with HIV.
