- Kapoeta Hospital, built by Normeca is a state of the art hospital
that has 150 beds with laboratory, X-Ray, Dental and ICU facilities
with three Ultrasound machines and six operating theatres

organisations. Unity state has 9 counties with 10 Primary Health
Care Units and 25 Primary Health Care centers.

- IRC – Nyeal, Panyijiar County
- White Nile Petroleum Company (WNPOC) – Mirmir and Rier,
Koch County
- CARE, MSF France, ACF and Greater Nile Petroleum Operating
Company (GNPOC) – Rubkona County
- CARE and World Relief – Biemnom County
- World Relief – Mayom County
Facilities available in the state are:
- Bentiu Civil/Referral Hospital, Bentiu is government run with
the additional service provision of HIV/AIDS screening or testing.
- Nhialdiu health centre, Rubkona County (currently closed under
going renovations)
- Mayom town health centre, Mayom County
- Manken health centre, Mayom County
- Wankei health centre, Mayom County
- Biemnom health centre, Biemnom County

WESTERN
BAHR EL GHAZAL
The health facilities available are either run
privately or by non governmental organisations. Several agencies
are present in the state:
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) – Jebel Kheir Centre, HTI
Center and Sika Hadid Center
- Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS) and Danish Red Cross (DRC)
– Brinji and Bazia, Wau County; Udici and Tarkweng, Jur
River County; Deimzubeir and Boro Madina, Raga County
- German Leprosy Relief Association (GLRA) – Agok Hospital
The hospitals available in the state are:
- Wau Teaching Hospital – has medical laboratory with a
nursing school run by Ministry of Health and forms part of the
Faculty of Health for University of Bahr el Ghazal. Annual enrolment
of high school graduates to be part of 45 students for the 3 year
course
- Raga County Hospital
- Wau Military Hospital – run by the Army and has medical
laboratory
- Police Hospital – run by the Police Authority and has
medical laboratory
- Agok Hospital – run by German Leprosy Relief Association
(GLRA)
Pyscho Social Center in Udici Payam run by Sudan
Red Crescent Society and Danish Red Cross has a program targeting
50 children with the objective of offering educational and social
services to war affected children.

WESTERN
EQUATORIA
Almost all health facilities are
run by non governmental organisations with largest support from
UNICEF.
Western Equatoria has 10 counties
with 165 Primary Health Care Units and 46 Primary Health Care Centers.
The state has two training institutes:
- Maridi Training Institute
- Lui, Mundri East County
Both offer training for Mother
Child health care workers, Child Health Workers and Clinical Officers.
Other agencies present in the
state:
- International Medical Corps (IMC)
- MSF France International
Facilities available in the state
are:
- Yambio Civil Hospital has a laboratory that conducts testing
for Tuberculosis (TB), Malaria, Sleep Sickness, HIV/AIDS, Typhoid
and Meningitis among others. An x-ray machine is available but
there is no qualified technician to operate it.
- Li-rangu Hospital is situated 15 miles from Yambio town but
not functional as there is no doctor.
There are five Primary Health
Care Centres (PHCC) in Yambio County. (Distances are from Yambio
town)
Gangura PHCC – 24 miles
- Makpandu health centre – 28 miles
- Nadiangere health centre – 105 miles – has 15 beds
with a maternity facilities and small theatre for minor surgery
- Li-rangu PHCC – 15 miles
- Bazungua PHCC – 4 miles
Yambio town has several drug stores
and clinics:
- Daystar Clinic
- Grace and Sons Clinic
