It has come to our attention that quite a number of media organisations have got into the habit of lifting Gurtong’s generated news reports and documents for use in their publications for sale or public relations without clear credit to Gurtong. Sometimes our paid reporters are by-lined without association to Gurtong. This is embarrassing to them as it would appear as if they gave permission to such publications either freely or for cash.

Distortion of Gurtong’s generated reports has also been a feature with some publications, which at one time almost landed a Khartoum’s-based publication in a lawsuit. So care must be taken by anyone using our material not to distort our reports and documents in anyway in their own re-reporting of our reports and documents.

We (Gurtong) demand being credited for our generated news reports and researched documents posted on our website. Otherwise we will be forced to take further steps, such as naming publicly publications which unabashedly continue to practice plagiarism or intellectual dishonesty and theft of our material.

We on our part do acknowledge and credit material generated by others and we are ready to apologise when notified of any error.
